Author Description

Ben Pwee is the director for his own Asian business strategy firm, I-deo Asia Ltd and is also Associate Secretary of the Asia Theological Association. He is based in Singapore and is married with three children.

Asia Theological Association (ATA) is composed of theological educational institutions, committed to evangelical faith and scholarship, which are networking together, to serve the Church in equipping the people of God for the mission of the Lord Jesus Christ. ATA was established in 1970 as a direct outcome of the need expressed at several Asia wide conferences and consultations. Since then, it has grown into a movement committed to serving its members in the development of evangelical biblical theology by strengthening interaction, enhancing scholarship, promoting academic excellence, fostering spiritual and ministerial formation, and mobilizing resources to fulfill God's global mission within diverse Asian cultures.

Product Description

In this disturbing and challenging monograph, the author Ben Pwee convincingly argues that beyond the political, economic, social and religious globalization now taking place in Asia the real battle is for humanity. This self-identity embraces, personal living, relationships with family, the market place and as Christians, the church. The author deals with our human fallenness, manifested as greed, self-satisfaction and pride and its impact on community, conflicts in society and the fight for human control.

Pwee calls for a relevant and practical theology, the pooling of resources, the training of talented mid-career lay leaders, and for front-line theological research. He endorses Eugene Peterson’s plea for a return to the Bible, recycled for today in theological education and the pastoral ministries of the church.
